D’Alessandro geht zu Portsmouth
Der 24 Jahre alte argentinische Mittelfeldspieler D’Alessandro wechselt nach England zum FC Portsmouth. D’Alessandro, der beim VfL Wolfsburg unter dem neuen Trainer Klaus Augenthaler aus dem Kader für das Spiel in Dortmund gestrichen worden war, wechselt mit sofortiger Wirkung zum FC Portmouth in die englische Premier League. Beide Seiten einigten sich auf ein Leihgeschäft. Der Argentinier besitzt beim VfL noch einen bis 2008 datierten Vertrag. D’Alessandro kam 2003 für neun Millionen Euro von River Plate Buenos Aires zum VFL.
An D’Alessandro war auch der Liga-Rivale Gladbach interessiert. Die Wolfsburger Vereinsführung wollte den Südamerikaner nicht an den Liga-Konkurrenten ausleihen und die Borussia wollte keine 6,5 bis 7 Millionen Euro Kaufsumme für D’Alessandro zahlen.
Da kann ich nur sagen. Vom deutschen Abstiegskampf zum englischen Abstiegskampf. Portmouth ist in England zurzeit auf dem vorletzten Platz der Premier League.
